Responsibilities and Qualifications

Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:

  • Verifies equipment malfunctions and performs corrective maintenance actions on High-End and High/Low-Risk clinical (patient care related) devices, instruments and systems.

  • Documents all actions and test results according to department policy, using computerized maintenance management software – with 99% accuracy and timeliness.

  • Assists outside vendors in their delivery of repair services, monitors completion of repairs, and audits their service report to ensure proper documentation and to verify charges. Enters service event into the CMMS system including complete cost details of service event – with 98% accuracy and timeliness.

  • Identifies malfunctioning parts and assemblies and determines the best source for acquiring the needed component(s) taking into account financial and time constraints.Scheduled (Preventative) Maintenance

Qualifications:

Because you’re committed to excellence, you understand the importance of being properly prepared for your role at Mercy. That’s why you’ll bring to your role the right set of qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree (AA) in Biomedical Equipment Technology or equivalent from a two year college, technical school; Military training may be substituted or equivalent combination of education.

  • A minimum of a Seven years experience in the repair and maintenance of medical equipment. Incumbent will be required to have expert (Vendor) level expertise within a specific modality type as required for the position.

  • ICC Certification; Eligible.
