Mercury Z Copper/Fiber Installation and Repair Service Technician in Springfield, Missouri

Immediate openings in Missouri, Kansas, and Arkansas!

We are looking for experienced Copper/Fiber Field Service Technicians to to install and repair copper and fiber based services in customer homes and/or small businesses.

Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Receives work assignments and trouble cases from designated employees or via tablets.

  • Troubleshoots, diagnoses, repairs and or installs copper and fiber based services

  • Maintains a safe work environment by following safe practices and adhering to safety policies, including practicing safe driving techniques

  • Performing diagnostic tests on integrated circuit equipment (DSLAM) to determine trouble through use of copper test equipment like HST3000 TDR or equivalent and tone generators to diagnose and isolate trouble in the copper network.

  • Performing necessary work to connect, disconnect, test, repair and maintain various types of company and customer provided telephones and equipment.

  • Working knowledge of handheld electronics, including smart phones, ipads, etc., preferred

  • Construction experience and electrician experience is a plus

  • Works aloft; climb ladders and poles; enter tunnels, buildings, trenches, crawl spaces, manholes, and other confined spaces to accomplish job tasks.

  • May perform light digging.

  • May be required to stand or sit for long periods of time.

  • May work outdoors in all weather conditions.

  • Responsible for arranging work load and dealing directly with the appropriate center.

  • Identifying and meeting individual customer requirements on installation and/or repair contacts.

  • May be required to perform additional duties and tasks as required by the Company.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Associates/Bachelor?s degree and/or equivalent work experience is preferred

  • 1+ years installing Cable TV, Data, Internet, and/or Satellite TV.

  • 1+ years Fiber/Copper I&M Telecom Experience

  • Customer service experience within the last 3 years

  • Prior experience using a body belt and safety straps.

  • Must have own truck, tools, and ladder

  • Must have JDSU meter or equivalent

  • Must possess a valid driver's license in the primary state of residence

  • Must pass a drug test and background test

  • Must be able to speak clearly, concisely, and to communicate effectively in a courteous and professional manner
