Electric Power Systems Entry Level Substation Design Engineer in Springfield, Missouri
The EPS Engineering & Design staff has decades of experience with substation design and site expansion projects. Our engineers and technicians design detailed job packages that include site plan
feasibility, cost estimates, engineering studies, bid documents, general contractor selection, construction drawings, equipment specifications, wiring diagrams, elevation drawings and bill of materials.
EPS Engineering & Design focuses on communication, effective project management and logical problem solving to drive projects to completion both on time and within budget. With a strong history in the Utility market, we have expertise in all the applicable physical, protection & control and communication based design tasks and deliverables.
New electrical substation design including:
Initial layout of substation site
Layout of equipment and steel structures
Equipment and material specifications
Conduit and grounding placement
Control cable and wiring
Relay panel design and wiring
Relay settings
Control building design including AC and DC panels, batteries and charger
Fence and gate design including grounding
Bid and construction contract documents
Observation and inspection
Supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA)
Load/system studies and coordination
Arc-flash studies
Grounding system design
Substation Protection & Control
Engineering Services Old and Rebuilds:
Re-closer/Circuit breaker replacement including protection, control and settings
Relays and relay panel replacement including wiring and settings
Transformer change outs
Switch and bus work upgrades/replacement
SCADA upgrades and additions
Minimum Requirements:
Must have knowledge of the process of engineering an electrical substation or have at least 5 years of experience in the operation of substations.
- Working knowledge of electrical substations including but not limited to: equipment, conduit, grounding, relays, relaying, control, SCADA , familiar with AutoCAD
