- Quality Control Lab Technician *
Responsibilities include the testing of raw materials, intermediates, finished goods and bulk pharmaceuticals, as well as in-process production testing. Responsibilities also include providing fast, accurate and efficient analytical support to the department’s customers. Lab Technician's ensure that analytical testing of raw materials, intermediates, final products, bulk pharmaceuticals, reference standards, authentic samples and stability samples are followed in compliance with the requirements of Euticals Inc./AMRI.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES :
Performs cGMP analysis of samples utilizing analytical instrumentation and methodology including:
· Spectrophotometry: ultraviolet and infrared.
· Chromatography: Thin layer, GC, Head Space GC, HPLC and UPLC.
· Particle size analysis: Manual Sieve, Jet Sieve and Malvern
· pH measurement
· Analytical balances. .
· Wet Chemistry: Karl Fischer (water determinations), visual and potentiometric titrations, gravimetric determinations,
· Visual inspection: visual color and clarity determinations.
· Other analytical qualitative and quantitative determinations.
· Computer technology: Totalchrom chromatography data acquisition system, SAP, and Microsoft Office use:
Follow written methodology to make solvents and reagents used in the laboratory. Must be able to understand the scientific and chemical terms and definitions used in the lab and in the methods. Conduct standardizations of the solutions and calibrations of the instruments. Performs analysis of reference standards, stability samples and authentic samples.
Ensure priorities of the department are met by coordinating and changing priorities as needed to provide the maximum service to customers. Be aware of shipping requirements.
Communicate analytical testing results clearly and accurately.
Provide consistent, accurate results by attention to detail and using correct mathematical skills.
Develop time management skills to perform multiple analyses simultaneously.
Actively participate in training and development to continuously increase knowledge of Euticals policy and procedures, software systems and analytical instrumentation and theory by following the manuals and seeking help from experienced person or by acquiring scheduled training.
Troubleshoot instruments, methods and SOP’s.
Train other technicians on instruments and methods.
Responsible for the approval of all in-process samples, raw materials, and intermediates products based on the established protocols and specification. Responsible to initiate resamples of materials if deemed necessary.
Develop proficiency in analytical methods by analyzing all raw materials, intermediates, finished goods, and bulk pharmaceuticals. Initiated additional testing and/or resampling based on results or plant information. Be able to analyze samples submitted by the Process group
The following knowledge and proficiency skills are required for this position to be acquired through a minimum of two years of college education in a science discipline, with at least six hours of chemistry credits. A BS or BA degree in a science discipline is preferred or a combination of education and/or experience working in an analytical laboratory setting may be considered.
Good knowledge of analytical chemistry including wet chemistry and instrumental methods of analysis.
Strong computer and math skills.
Well developed oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work with changing priorities in a high pressure environment with shift flexibility.
Ability to be a good team player and project a positive image of the department to customers.
