The Senior Director, Operational Quality Assurance provides technical leadership, guidance, and support to DairiConcepts LP manufacturing plants in the areas of Quality Assurance and Food Safety. Ensures compliance to all programs, procedures, applicable regulatory, and customer requirements as well as alignment with overall strategic objectives of the department and the business unit. Drives a culture of Quality and Food Safety.General duties and Responsibilities: * Provide mentoring, support, and direction to QA Directors. * Work with VP- QA to deliver against Food Safety and Quality strategic goals and improvement plans. Provide direction to assure that the facilities have the systems, knowledge, capabilities, and practices to comply with all internal Quality Assurance and Food Safety policies and procedures in addition to all pertinent FDA, USDA, State, and customer requirements. * Serve as a member of the business unit leadership team. * Interface with facilities, regulatory agencies and customers to address issues identified for improvement or resolution. * Provide timely communication, KPI reports, and written summaries regarding projects, mitigation activities, findings, and compliance to programs/policies short, mid and long-range goals. * Drive Continuous Improvement using Quality Analytics to monitor leading and lagging indicators of Quality and Food Safety. Specific Duties * Business and Operational Partnership * Work in tandem with the QA Directors and Operations to ensure all customer complaints are investigated and addressed in a timely manner. Drive strategic projects to improve and prevent future occurrences. Assist with communication to the customer/consumer. * Support sales and business with key customer meetings, visits/audits and ensure follow up by the plant on any required quality/food safety action items. Ensure the manufacturing sites can deliver on the expectations set forth in customer agreement, product formulations and finished good specifications. Communicate any potential gaps. * Ensure compliance to customer agreements and monitor trends in data that may lead to rejection or non-compliance. Put preventive programs in place as needed. * Ensure communication and alignment with QA Directors regarding current state and any future planning/action regarding Quality Assurance/Food Safety programs, capital needs and optimization of process. Link in business partners to ensure alignment on plant needs. * Support the planning, due diligence, construction and commercialization of new plant or existing plant expansions. * Compliance to GFSI, FSMA, Internal Quality Assurance/Food Safety Programs and Policies- * Ensure Food Quality and Food Safety Plans are current, relevant and are being followed and implemented. Ensure all PC's/CCP's are appropriate and records are complete and accurate. * Monitor CAPA Programs to ensure root cause analysis is performed and timely closure. Work with the plant and operations on any items that require capital and ensure the completion of those requests. * Monitor all Pathogen Environmental Monitoring PEM program data to ensure compliance to programs. Remain cognizant of all current and historic pathogen activity. Coordinate/lead mitigation efforts as needed. * Ensure all plant documentation and record keeping is complete, reviewed and any deviations are addressed and closed out * Ability to effectively organize, coordinate and execute. * Ability to help develop and/or execute strategic plans to meet departmental and organizational goals while complying with regulatory and customer requirements.
