AUTHORITY:

Has the authority to ensure safe and efficient operations in accordance with PSC Metals standards.

DUTIES

YARD RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensure that all PSC Metals EH&S Policy are being adhered to daily.

Direct and oversee the daily operations of the assigned yard(s).

Have full responsibility for Inventory Management, including production transfers.

Ensure ferrous and nonferrous production levels are being met and report any significant downtime to VP of Operations.

Nonferrous experience is highly desirable.

Work with Buying Group on quality issues involving customer rejects or downgrades. Document downgrade by use of pictures and written report. File the information.

Overall leadership of corporate safety plans in areas under direct report inclusive of accident reporting, accident investigation, safety training, and any related compliance issues.

Coordinates with Human Resources regarding employee matters, including employee relations, employee development, and corrective action.

Coordinate with VP Operations Southern Region to establish working schedules for all Ferrous and Nonferrous production.

Participate in the employment processes of personnel as required by company standards and to maintain production schedule.

Monitor and approve overtime for employees under direct report in order to maintain labor cost within Budgeted guidelines.

Monitor expenses to maintain cost within budgeted guidelines.

Ensure equipment checked daily based on guidelines set forth by OSHA and PSC. Report any issues to the appropriate person(s).

Make recommendations to manager and human resources for hourly and salary personnel

Make recommendations to manager and human resources regarding employee career development.

Maintains records of departmental activities as required.

Maintain a leadership role regarding safety for the yard operation by following established company policy.

Responsible for monitoring incoming materials for hazardous content and determine accept or reject status within scope of defined company policy and procedures.

Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION/WORK EXPERIENCE/SUPERVISORY/MGMT EXPERIENCE:

HS Diploma or GED required

No special licenses or certifications required

Microsoft Office - Word / Excel / Outlook

3-5 work related experience required

1-3 Supervisory/Management experience required

Non ferrous experience is highly desirable.

Has the authority to direct the employees daily work activities. Has authority to recommend the following employment actions: hiring, termination, corrective action or performance reviews

Specific physical requirements and/or environmental exposures are an essential part of the job
