Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. Mining Engineering Project Manager in St. Charles, Missouri
As a CEC Senior Project Manager - Mining Engineer, you will be tasked to help grow the mining practice in Missouri. You will manage projects and project teams to navigate today’s complex mining regulatory landscape, help our aggregate quarry and industrial minerals clients to secure permits and complete projects in a timely manner while achieving compliance with regulatory criteria. Your work will influence the entire project – from assessment and investigation, (including solving complex groundwater issues related to karst environments), to conceptual design plans, through completion of permitting, bidding, and construction. You will also serve as a mentor to junior staff, educating them about the mining/quarry industry in the region, field data collection, or engineering and environmental design parameters, as well as the regulatory criteria as they relate to the aggregate and industrial minerals mining/quarry operations industries in Illinois, Missouri or other midwest States.
B.S. in Civil, Mechanical, Mining or Environmental Engineering with P.E. registration (M.S. preferred) or B.S. in Geology with R.G. registration (M.S. preferred);
Minimum 15+ years of experience in managing mining/quarry operations-related infrastructure design, permitting and/or environmental compliance activities for mining/quarry operations in Illinois, Missouri or other midwest States;
Strong working knowledge of Illinois, Missouri , other midwest states, and federal environmental laws and regulations as they relate to aggregate and industrial minerals quarry operations;
Experience working with all levels of regulatory agency personnel in Illinois, Missouri or other midwest States;
Demonstrated experience building a staff well as supervising technical and administrative personnel
Demonstrated success in the development and execution of mining/quarry business development strategies including creation of market/client intelligence, win themes, visitation schedules, client relationship management, and revenue generation;
Ability to prepare and review engineering drawings and plans; and,
Ability to speak and write professionally, including experience with preparation of regulatory submittals, as well as preparation and delivery of technical presentations to trade association groups
