QC Technician (Job Number: 199407W-01)


DuPont Nutrition & Health has an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a Quality Control Laboratory Technician in St. Joseph, Missouri.

The position will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

  • Perform routine lab testingwith accurate and timely recording of test results into the SAP QualityManagement module and utilize lab reference materials and resources fortesting.

  • Understand and followprocedures of the department for proper calibration and use of labequipment and instruments.

  • Follow and enforce laboratorysafety procedures.

  • Coordinate the retain samplestorage system for the site. Perform environmental sampling procedures(i.e. equipment, bacterial checks, Listeria, Salmonella checks and airquality checks, heavy metals and pesticides).

  • Assist Q.C. Supervisor and teammembers by being responsive to any problems relative to Q.C. laboratoryfunctions. Troubleshoot, investigate, resolve and escalate issues asnecessary.

  • Participate as a member of theQC lab team to outline work schedules and priorities. May participate asQC representative in review meetings.

  • Ensure that allcomputer-generated reports are maintained and monitored on a consistentbasis.

  • Adhere to Good ManufacturingPractices (GMP) for the care, handling and storage of food products; andescalate any known or observed violations as necessary. Utilize HACCPphilosophy and procedures in everyday work routine.

  • Ensure adherence to all qualityand Food Safety systems with an understanding of DuPont’s Quality Policyand procedures including, but not limited to, Quality, Safety, FoodSafety, Environmental, GMP’s, HAACP, and Attendance.

In order to be qualified for this role, the following is required:

  • Minimum High School Diploma/GEDand 4+ years of experience in an industrial/manufacturing lab OR aBachelor’s Degree in Biology, Chemistry, or related field

  • Ability to troubleshootequipment issues, independently or through a team process

  • Proficient in Microsoft OfficeSuite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and learning new computersoftware systems

  • Demonstrated ability to workwith scientific and product manufacturing equipment

  • Demonstrated leadership skillshighly regarded

  • Strong record-keeping skillsand exceptional attention to detail

  • Team player with an ability towork closely with all functional teams within the plant

  • Excellent interpersonal,written and verbal communication skills

  • Flexible to changingpriorities, demonstrates self-management

  • Experience with data analysisto identify problems and plan a path forward for resolution

  • Willing and able to workovertime as needed

  • Willing and able to lift up to55 lbs. on occasion

  • Willing and able to wearrequired PPE (personal protective equipment) such as steel toes, hardhat,Nomex, protective eyewear, face shields, and SCBA (self-containedbreathing apparatus)

The following additional skill sets are preferred by the site:

  • Experience with SAP orequivalent Manufacturing Operations software

  • Laboratory certification

  • Familiar with AIB GMP /GLP best practices

  • Experience utilizing HACCPsystems

  • Experience with hazardousmaterials training

  • Experience in analytical wetchemistry systems and methods

  • Knowledge of 3M Microbiologicalsystems
