About The Opportunity

The Engineering Co-Op

provides direct support of the development of additive manufacturing processes

with technical responsibility for additive manufacturing equipment operation,

data collection and data analysis. The duration of the co-op assignment is six

months at 35 hours per week.



  • Assists in additive manufacturing process development.

  • May coordinate or conduct basic material

characterization activities using metallurgical sample preparation and

analysis tools.

  • May collect and filter data and prepare simple work

instructions, KUKA robotic programs, and conduct basic engineering

analysis in support of additive manufacturing process and equipment


  • Performs basic equipment and process troubleshooting to

identify root cause and suggest corrective action.

  • Continuously improves processes via work instruction,

engineering process, and equipment changes.

  • Identifies and recommends initiatives to improve

additive processes and flow.

  • Under the guidance of more experienced Technology

Engineers, tracks engineering data and recommends actions pertaining to

process and or equipment requirements or improvements.

  • Maintains positive, teaming relationship with internal

and external customers, as well as co-workers.

About you


  • Requires third or fourth year engineering student

status at time of employment (Summer Semester 2018).


  • Work experience as an intern or co-op in a

manufacturing or research environment preferred.

  • Experience with operation and programming of industrial

robots preferred

Candidates must be U.S. Persons with the ability to pass a

government background investigation for a DoD Security Clearance at the secret

level. Candidates will also be subject to an employment background

investigation to include but not limited to: criminal history, employment and

education verification, drug testing, and creditworthiness. The clearance

must be maintained during the time of employment.
