The focus of the General Engineer Architect is to support project engineering management and record drawing maintenance. Work includes support of engineers throughout project life cycle and management/development of drawings and specifications.

These duties and responsibilities will be rated on the Annual Performance Review.
Select, evaluate, and implement architectural procedures and techniques to develop completed projects. Perform design computations, compile data, and complete architectural assignments.
Prepare contract documents for repair and renovation projects ranging from $10,000 up to $750,000 including schedules, estimates, and architectural plans.
Primary interface with customer interior space planners, coordinates customer requirements, implements solutions, and inspects structures in the field.
Assist and guide implementation of Autodesk REVIT, Building Information Modeling, Facility Maintenance Management Systems like BUILDER, and other government initiatives.
Assist manager with monitoring team productivity and creates contract reports to the government.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Develop change orders, bills of materials, cost estimates, and negotiates contract changes with General Contractors.
Perform construction management inspection services and maintains contract records.
Coordinate mechanical, electrical, plumbing technician trade support for small and intermediate sized projects.
Ensure compliance with physical security standards for construction and protection of SCIFs and ensure all customer facility security requirements are met.
Assist site safety with life-safety facility evaluations and recommends corrective actions.
Comply with all applicable Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations.
Participate in the reliable operation of a safe physical plant, performing preventive maintenance as directed, keeping your SOP book up to date, following SOPs, and follow emergency plans as directed.
Qualifications: Education, Experience, and Certification(s)
Bachelor of Science Engineering Degree or bachelor’s degree of Architecture required.
Five years of related experience required.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI government security clearance with polygraph is required.
Membership in professional organizations preferred. E.g., SAME, AIA, ASCE, ASME, ASEE, ASAE, GBCI.
Technical training in 3D graphics software, AutoCAD, REVIT, Navisworks and other building information software tools from accredited technical school or college.
LEED Certification is preferred. E.g., LEED AP w/specialty, LEED Green Associate.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, and other software.
Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and their applications.
Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services; This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
This position requires use of computers and the ability to comprehend written and oral instructions.
Independent judgment or initiative is expected.
Ability to read/understand and create construction drawings and specifications.
