DevOps Engineer

We?re looking for a DevOps Engineer to work at our client site in St. Louis, MO. In this position, you will have the opportunity to work on highly complex technical issues and be at the forefront of technological development.

Each project will be different, but you?ll always be responsible for:

  • Responsible for Change Management, including the creation of changes, providing implementation instructions, coordinating change resources, troubleshooting of issues within maintenance windows

  • Partner with architects, Business Operations, security and builder tools teams to ensure applications are fault-tolerant with comprehensive monitoring and alerting

  • Demonstrate proficiency in business and functional requirement gathering and knowledge of principles, theories, and concepts

  • Offer continual process improvement and automation support for existing products and procedures. Need to be able to take a laborious and error-prone manual process and reduce it to an automated process with error handling and scalability

What You?ll Definitely Need

  • Bachelor?s or higher degree in Computer Science or related field

  • Good experience on CI/CD frameworks: Jenkins

  • Good experience on configuration management tools: Chef

  • Has had the experience to develop and implement automation in unit testing, release builds and release deployments

  • Ability to quickly learn technical product knowledge, especially security-related concepts

  • Well versed with technologies such as Perl, Python, Groovy, Java, Bash

  • Should have experience working in an agile/scrum teams/Kanban

  • Technical Skills Needed:

  • Chef configuration management

  • Continuous Integration and continuous deployment tools: Jenkins

  • GIT/SVN

  • Security Protocols (SSL, TLS)

  • Good knowledge of Unix Servers and Administration

  • Good knowledge of Tomcat and JBoss

  • Good knowledge of one or more scripting languages such as Perl, Ruby, Bash

  • Good knowledge of automation tools such as Chef

  • Good knowledge of software development and testing

  • Has had experience with monitoring and alert tools ? Splunk and Dynatrace

  • Familiarity with an issue tracking system such as Rally or Jira

  • Ability to maintain automated build processes using standard enterprise tools

Location

  • Either reside in the St. Louis area or be willing to relocate before the start date

What We Would Love to See

  • Good understanding of development operations

  • Database (Oracle) knowledge for deployment automation and issue troubleshooting

  • Has had experience with tools such as ansible and bamboo

  • Good coordination skills with the team management

  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
