Jushi Extraction Manager in St. Louis, Missouri


We identify, evaluate, and acquire U.S.-based cannabis operations within each state to vertically integrate, produce, and distribute medical grade cannabis formulations in the United States offering patients and customers premium, high-grade cannabis and related products.


The Extraction Manager is responsible for supervision of the entire extraction team as well as the intake department. The extraction team is responsible for concentrate production, which includes but is not limited to inventory management, production of cannabis products, compliance requirements, and lab safety.

  • Responsible for managing the daily activities of the intake and extraction department including planning, scheduling, approving bi-weekly payroll hours, organizing, assigning and coordinating the activities and resources of the department.

  • Directly manages the production work force, including hiring, training, disciplinary actions, terminations, labor planning, and workforce organization.

  • Develops, maintains, and implements standard operating procedures for all products and techniques developed.

  • Develops and maintains accurate records, mathematical computations, and prepares reports.

  • Develops and implements research and development procedures, programs and techniques for intake, extraction and concentrate products to meet organizational needs and to capitalize on potential new products.

  • Analyze results of experimental studies and write reports for both company records and regulatory bodies.

  • Ensures all standards for processing procedures and laboratory protocols are followed:

  • Compliance with Health Department Regulations

  • Assuring compliance with local, state, and federal billing or licensing requirements

  • Quality control methods are adhered to throughout entire process

  • Laboratory standards are documented and followed

  • Experiments/manufacturing methods are documented for future reference

  • Inventory oversight and management

  • Use of laboratory experience and knowledge to determine all necessary equipment required for manufacturing

  • Follow ?Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)? as they are implemented

  • Manages and maintains to the highest level the health, sanitation, and safety regulations pertaining to the handling and storage of all cannabis products.

  • Evaluates new equipment/processes for extraction as well as upgrades/changes to existing equipment and procedures.

  • Collaborates with other managers and team members resource planning and coordination.

  • Attention to detail and time management skills to work on multiple projects at once.

  • Maintain technical knowledge through self-assigned research utilizing industry publications, establishing personal networks and researching state-of-the-art practices.


  • Knowledge and experience in food, beverage, nutraceutical manufacturing.

  • Knowledge and experience related to analytical, organic chemistry and micro-biology; and good manufacturing practices.

  • Knowledge and experience related to producing marijuana products; extraction techniques; and routes of administration.

  • Ability to listen well and communicate effectively orally and in writing with various audiences.

  • Comprehensive understanding of all equipment and materials used in the extraction process.

  • Ability to work effectively with employees, management, customers, other governmental agencies, community members and the general public.

  • Understanding of applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations as they pertain to the industry, personnel law, safety regulations, local municipal codes and organizational rules, regulations, directives and standard operating procedures.

  • Must understand and comply with typical laboratory standards.

  • Must be familiar with OSHA guidelines for dealing with hazardous chemicals.

  • Skill in analyzing problems, identifying alternative solutions, projecting consequences of proposed actions, and implementing recommendations in support of company philosophies and goals.

  • Ability to use standard office equipment, computer equipment and software including word processing, data base management, spreadsheet applications and electronic mail.

  • Will be required to be on-call and to respond to emergency situations at any time. This may include scheduling issues, potentially covering a vacant shift, facility issues and/ or human resources requirements.


  • Bachelor?s degree preferred or equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.

  • 3-5 years? experience in extractions of marijuana or other botanicals.

  • Previous experience in laboratory/quality control environment.


  • This job operates in a Lab environment. This role is routinely exposed to various odors and varying temperatures on a daily basis and uses standard lab equipment.
