ABS Group’s Advanced Engineering Division in St Louis, Missouri is seeking a highly motivated engineer to join our team.

ABS Group is worldwide multi-discipline industry leader in risk assessment, hazard mitigation, and management planning for natural, process, or threat related hazards. The St. Louis Office has unique capabilities and extensive experience in the analysis and mitigation of natural and manmade hazards.

Responsibilities for this position will include GIS analysis, risk analysis, loss estimation, flood modeling, data analysis, writing technical reports, developing and delivering presentations.

Requirements

  • BS degree in Water Resources/Civil Engineering or related degree, MS preferred

  • Require knowledge of US and international design standards, codes and practices.

  • Working experience with FEMAflood estimation tools

  • Must be proficient with word processing and spreadsheet, GIS and CADD software.

  • Should be able to work effectively on teams whose members reside in several distributed offices and whose interaction is most frequently by phone or email.

  • Working knowledge of rainfall runoff methods and models; stormwater management design and drainage network modeling; erosion and sediment control design including sediment basin sizing.

  • Working knowledgeof FEMA HAZUS program

Educational Requirements

  • M.S. degree in Civil Engineering and 6 years of industry experience, or Ph.D. in Civil Engineering with 4 years of industry experience, with emphasis on hydraulics, hydrology or fluid mechanics, or equivalent, and graduate coursework in fluid dynamics, engineering hydrology, stormwater management, site drainage, open channel and pipeline hydraulics, sediment transport, and numerical methods. All education degrees must be accredited.

OR

  • M.S. degreein relevant fieldwith a minimum of 10 years of industry experience, or Ph.D.in relevant fieldwith a minimum of 7 years of industry.All education degrees must be accredited.
