Lead Parts Processor is responsible for using industrial cleaning products, wire wheels, small power tools and hand tools to clean and restore component parts used in sub-assemblies of process control instrumentation and control valves. The Lead Parts Processor would be proficient in the examination and inspection of finished parts for defects and to ensure conformance to established standards; verifying accurate identification of parts and container counts; proper containerization and routing of parts. In addition, he/she is responsible for the training and development of departmental employees.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESProvide the necessary training of departmental personnel to include providing instruction, through demonstration, and answering of questions in regards to methods and procedures.Responsible for being the eyes and ears for the company and reporting any potential problems, personnel or otherwise, to the supervisor / manager of the department.Inspect the parts to determine if they can be remanufactured.Clean and restore parts to an as new condition.Prepare parts for refinishing.Inspect parts for conformance to specifications.Identify non-conforming parts and take the appropriate actions, such as routing parts for rework or rejecting parts not meeting specifications.Other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTSEntry level Experience not required. Light Assembly Manufacturing experience preferred.High School Equivalency required. High School diploma preferred.REQUIRED SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTESAbility to lift 60 pounds.Ability to read, understand and follow basic instructions.Mechanical aptitude.High degree of attention to detail.Must be capable of walking and standing for approximately six to eight hours per day.Basic PC skills and an aptitude for computer use with the ability to learn proprietary software system.Ability to work effectively with the departmental supervisor / manager.Excellent verbal and written communications skills.Excellent problem solving skills.DESIRED TRAITSAbility to use a digital camera a plus.High energy and sense of urgency.
