The Gund Company is seeking a motivated, proactive, problem solving team member to grow and develop their career within the Maintenance Department at our St. Louis Location. The Gund Company manufactures and fabricates composite materials primarily for purposes of electrical insulation but have been expanding into many new industries that are now requiring more advanced materials such as Oil/Gas, and Aerospace.

What you'll do

The maintenance department is responsible for the safety, proper function and appearance of all assets for The Gund Company located on the grounds of its St. Louis location. The team member we are seeking will primarily be responsible and have an aptitude for maintaining our CNC and manual machinery. While maintaining our equipment will be the main priority all members of the maintenance team are expected to be cross functional with the ability to participate in projects and accomplish tasks related to maintaining the facility and grounds, including but not limited to painting, plumbing cleaning etc. The Gund Company has a job shop environment which can be challenging and requires a passion for quality and adaptability.

Essential Job Functions

  • Safely complete maintenance work as assigned

  • Perform preventative maintenance on manual and CNC equipment with limited direction and guidance

  • Perform basic to intermediate machinery repairs

  • Perform basic facility repair

  • Troubleshoot and resolve basic mechanical/electrical/electronic, pneumatic and plumbing breakdowns in a timely manner

  • Follow designated work instructions as outlined for specific functions. These include, but are not limited to: PM work orders, continuous improvement tasks, new installation line-ups, and repair/refurbish assignments

  • Perform facility systems inspections as assigned

  • Utilize diagnostic tools and techniques to detect problem areas and assist with resolution

  • Follow standard practices and all state and government regulations and laws relating work safety

Qualifications and Competencies

  • Perform work independently

  • Communicate with Team Lead and Manager on work order priority, issues and progress

  • Very good math skills

  • Ability to understand schematics

  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical/electronic, pneumatic, and plumbing breakdowns

  • Excellent problem solving skills

  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions

  • Must be able to work overtime as needed

Education and Experience

Trade School or Associates Degree in Industrial Maintenance with prior hands on, vocational or job-related course work/training, or any similar combination of education and experience is required. Prior experience in a manufacturing industry is preferred.
