The Drucker Company Mechanical Maintenance Technician in St Louis, Missouri

Job Summary

Accu-Glass manufactures precision glass products for use in medical, pharmaceutical, and laboratory markets. Our Maintenance Technicians are responsible for troubleshooting, disassembling, assessing, repairing, and testing functionality of mechanical equipment used in the production of high precision glass products, as well as ordering parts as necessary. This technician will perform mechanical, pneumatic and electrical maintenance and repairs, make adjustments, inspect, and monitor equipment for proper operation and perform preventive maintenance as scheduled. We are looking for someone that uses judgment and critical thinking to analyze, troubleshoot, and repair complex and custom equipment and machinery and who can work independently with minimal supervision, as well as read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical manuals, and diagrams. We need a team player that works effectively to support team goals and objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Must be able to troubleshoot mechanical assemblies. Must understand tolerances and classes of fit

  • Must be able to read blueprints (detail and assembly)

  • Must understand proper disassembly and assembly procedures and how important it is to have and maintain a clean and organized workstation and believe in the principles of 5S

  • The ideal candidate will have the ability to run manual toolroom machines such as a bandsaw, drill press, vertical milling machines, lathes, and surface grinders that can be used in the fabrication of repair parts

  • Must be able to set-up and maintain production line equipment and have their own tools and toolbox

  • This technician will be able to overhaul and troubleshoot all machines with guidance from area supervisor

  • Perform electrical repairs and trouble shoot electrical machine problems.

  • Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing to internal and external customers

  • Proficient working knowledge with PCs related to a Windows environment (email, excel, word)

  • Advanced mechanical ability required

  • Lifting, pushing, pulling, moving of equipment and machinery up to 60 lbs. is required

  • Experience with HVAC and plumbing a plus

  • Background in Machine Shop and Welding a plus

  • Minimum of 3 years in a manufacturing environment

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience

Two-year certificate or A.A. from a college or technical school with three to five years related experience in a manufacturing environment working on mechanical components.

Language Skills:

Ability to read and write in English and interpret documents such as assembly drawings, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of an ERP System software as well as basic Proficient working knowledge with PCs related to a Windows environment (email, excel, word)

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

Current Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) Driver?s License

Current valid state driver?s license in good standing
