This position is in the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Oncology. This position is for the Medical School Campus.
The DiPersio Lab is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to work on immunotherapeutics for hematologic malignancies. Use your talents and motivation to discover novel targets on blood cancers and lymphomas that could be used to design CAR-T cells and bispecific antibodies. Prior experience in several of the following is strongly preferred: CAR-T therapies, gene modification, gene editing, CRISPR-based screens, phage-display screens, large scale multi-parameter flow cytometry and analysis, and direct handling of animals in large mouse experiments (n ≥ 30 mice/exp). Expertise in single cell genomics is an additional plus. You will design and participate in on-going in vitro and in vivo experiments using all of these techniques. You will have your own project on which you can expect to publish first author paper(s). A demonstrated record of publication which may be in the form of preprint(s) is required as are strong communication skills, oral and written. Funding is already in place for this position.
This large laboratory group has extensive experience in translational research and has moved several projects into the clinic and patented others. Members of the laboratory regularly present their work on immunotherapeutics, stem cell mobilization strategies, and graft versus host disease at national conferences. In addition to Dr. DiPersio, the laboratory has other senior level scientists at the assistant and associate professor level, as well as clinical fellows, all of whom the postdoctoral researcher will have the opportunity to work with to ensure ample opportunity for guidance and lively critical discussions. Dr. DiPersio is Chief of the Oncology Division and is Deputy Director of the Siteman Cancer Center which is designated by the National Cancer Institute as a Comprehensive Cancer Center. The clinical and basic research scientists in the division trained around the world and actively engage in journal clubs and research presentations. In addition to high-quality research facilities, career and professional development training for postdoctoral researchers is provided through the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs, Career Center, Teaching Center, and campus groups.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Training under the supervision of Dr. DiPersio will include, but not be limited to:
- Manages your own project, which should lead to a first author publication.
- Develops or extends your expertise in some or all of these: CAR-T therapies, gene modification, gene editing, CRISPR-based screens, phage-display screens, single cell genomics, large scale multi-parameter flow cytometry and analysis, and direct handling of animals in large mouse experiments (n ≥ 30 mice/exp).
- Develops proficiency in career skills, including writing, public speaking, networking, and critical evaluation of scientific literature.
- Presents scientific work both inside and outside the University using excellent oral communication skills.
- Assists with grant preparation and reporting.
- Prepares and submits papers on research using excellent writing skills.
- Designs research experiments.
- Evaluates research findings and reporting results.
- Maintains conscientious discharge of your research responsibilities.
- Maintains conformity with ethical standards in research.
- Maintains compliance with good laboratory practice, including the maintenance of adequate research records.
- Engages in open and timely discussion with Dr. DiPersio regarding possession or distribution of material, reagents, or records belonging to his laboratory and any proposed disclosure of findings or techniques privately or in publications.
- Engages in collegial conduct towards co-trainees, staff members and members of the research group.
- Adheres to all applicable University policies, procedures and regulations. All data, research records and materials and other intellectual property generated in University laboratories remain the property of the University.
Completion or near completion of a Ph.D. degree in a biological science.

Base pay commensurate with experience.
