Job Type/Schedule

This position is full-time and works approximately 40 hours per week.

Department Name/Job Location

This position is located in the Department of Developmental Biology, the laboratory of Dr. Helen McNeill. This position is for the Medical School Campus.

Essential Functions

Applicants are sought at the level of Postdoctoral Research Associate/or Scholar in the McNeill lab to study how the nuclear envelope regulates gene expression during reprogramming from oocytes to early embryos. This project centers on a poorly studied protein, Nemp, that we have found is critical for fertility in flies, worms, fish and mice. Our studies indicate that NEMP1 supports nuclear envelope stiffness, and that loss of Nemp1 leads to defects in chromatin organization.

Applicants should have a PhD and demonstrated relevant research experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in collaboration are essential.
