This position is in the Department of Pathology/Immunology, Division of Laboratory and Genomic Medicine. This position is for the Medical School Campus.
Essential Functions
A position is available for a postdoctoral research associate with an interest in in studying how the immune system regulates the function of metabolic organs to support normal metabolism and contribute to the pathogenesis of obesity and type diabetes. Specifically, we are interested in understanding how immune cells such as group 2 innate lymphoid cells, eosinophils, macrophages, and T cells regulate glucose, lipid, and energy metabolism. This work involves the use of mouse models, tissue culture, metabolism techniques, immunology techniques, and molecular biology.
Required Qualifications
Ph.D. or equivalent degree in the biomedical sciences.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience conducting research in the fields of immunology, metabolism, or both and has published at least one first-author manuscript in a peer-reviewed journal.
- Direct hands-on experience working with transgenic mouse models and mouse husbandry.
Salary Range
Base pay commensurate with experience.
