The President and Site Director of GKN St. Louis LLC provides strategic vision and implementation leadership to the production, engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, quality assurance and facilities functions of the 1000+ employee operation. This role reports directly to the SSA Board of Directors, with dotted line reporting to the GKN North America East COO. Direct reports to this position include Vice Presidents or Directors in Finance, Operations, Programs, Engineering & Total Quality, Supply Chain, Procurement, Safety, IT, Lean, and HR.
This role is accountable for achieving the People, Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cash and Cost targets through the disciplined and rigorous deployment of the Lean Operating Model and is accountable for attaining Operational Excellence in the St. Louis Performance Centre, managing an operation with annual sales volume exceeding $300 Million.
This role is accountable for creating ‘A Great Place to Work’ through developing first class leaders and driving a culture of continuous improvement, safe working and open dialogue.
The St. Louis site operates under a Special Security Agreement or “SSA” with the Department of Defense. The President serves as a member of the SSA Board of both inside and outside Directors to ensure mitigation of any Foreign Ownership Control and Influence (FOCI), as well as to ensure the protection of classified and/or export controlled information.

Leading and developing the Performance Centre Leadership team in the delivery of People, Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cash and Cost (PSQDCC) targets, meeting customer and stakeholder commitments
Driving the disciplined and rigorous deployment of the Lean Operating Model (LOM) across their site, with active involvement in problem solving and the management system
Holding the Plant functional leadership and the Regional Business Process Owners (RBPOs) accountable for deploying the Global standards and meeting their targets within the plant
Ensuring the disciplined execution of Daily Management through the conscientious adherence to Leader Standard Work
Promoting the development of relationship and partnership with union leaders
Complying with all legal and regulatory requirements and ensuring that staff are aware of the policies and their individual responsibilities and accountabilities:

Export Control regulations
Airworthiness regulators i.e. CAA, EASA, FAA (Accountable Manager, where required)
BSc degree, preferably in an Engineering or Science discipline
Must be able to secure DOD Secret Clearance
5+ years of experience serving in a President or Vice President capacity as an organizational leader
10+ years of experience in site leadership; aerospace experience preferred
Proven metric driven performance management mindset
Demonstrated expertise in implementing IPT or Value Stream model/structure and associated cultural transformation
5+ years working with a Lean Operating Model / Production System Lean or Six Sigma
Experience leading a unionized workforce
Second or advanced degree in Business preferred
The demonstrated ability to influence across functional lines within company and within supplier organizations
Ability to lead, coach and mentor highly skilled and experienced direct reports
A track record of Leadership and direction through effective communications, building effective teams
A passion for the Aerospace industry
Strong knowledge of government contracting process and proprietary contracts development preferred
Aerospace supply chain experience preferred
Large site management > 500 preferred
