Principal Project Manager Engineering & Technology America's
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of this role, Principal Project Manager Crop Science, are to:
Be responsible for planning, leading and directing the development, execution and completion of major strategic capital investment programs or large projects in North, Central and South America in close alignment with Divisional Engineering and VentureManagement;
Provide concept development, establishment of project teams, basic engineering, detailed engineering and design, overall procurement, construction, commissioning and qualification of new production and infrastructure facilities or modification of existing facilities (together with divisional Engineering and Venture Management);
Be responsible for manage safety, regulatory and environmental compliance;
Ensure a lean Bayer internal engineering team which is equivalentor better than industry, while utilizing a broad group of differentservice providers located throughout the regions in the Americas;
Develop and sustain relationships with multiple service providers(A/E, EPC, EPCM and GCs) in all the Americas ensuring costcompetitiveness and regional legal requirements;
Act as a liaison to Bayer Crop Science and Real EstateLeadership Estate Leadership to establish a strong working relationship or all engineering activities and be a member of Bayer’s engineering communities;
Be responsible for the continuous improvement and overallefficiency targets for all design work, construction, and commissioning and qualification activities;
Act in full compliance with Quality and Safety Policies,Corporate Directives, Corporate Policies, Project Execution Structureand Standard Operating Procedures.
WHO YOU ARE
Your success will be driven by your demonstration of our LIFE values. More specifically related to this position, Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with at least 15 plus years of experience in Engineering or Engineering related fields;
At least 10 years’ experience and in-depth knowledge in the execution of Capital Projects;
In-depth knowledge of process technology, project engineering management principles and practices as well as involved Industry regulations and best practices;
Significant experience and past demonstration of ability for leadership and management of external resources;
Past demonstration of a high level of proficiency in negotiation, communication and ability to work well with others;
Past demonstration of ability for leadership and management of engineers and scientists;
Willingness to execute projects at remote locations with more than 60% travel.
Highly preferred experience in Crop Science (Active Ingredients, Formulations/Filling/Packaging, Seeds Biotechnology and Processing, and involved Utilities/ Infrastructure);
Highly preferred Mining Operations and Mining Project Management.
This role can be based in St. Louis, MO. or Soda Springs, ID.
