Robert Half International Print Production Artist in St. Louis, Missouri
TCG is working with a client in need of a Print Production Artist for a contract to hire opportunity. The Print Production Artist is responsible for the production of on time, error-free, and properly constructed print ready files. Key requirements for this role include expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, a strong knowledge of various printing platforms and prepress techniques, the ability to solve problems and communicate effectively with both print vendors and designers. Specific Responsibilities ? Work with and coordinate with the design team to bring their vision to life from electronic to printed form ? Create print ready files for our various print vendors from the final design proofs ? Work with Traffic Manager on print production timelines and determining best print vendors for each job ? Maintain responsibility for projects from creative hand-off through final delivery ? Maintain daily and weekly printer communication/check-ins/correspondence ? Adhere to quality standards and proofing/sign-off procedures to ensure error-free deliverables ? Maintain the integrity of the creative concept throughout the production process ? Work with Designers and Project Managers to create physical mock-ups for proofing purposes and postage estimates ? Deliver final artwork to print vendors and / or suppliers (via email, Hightail, Dropbox, etc.) ? Participate in the review of internal and external proofs (including going on local press checks) ? Compare final digital working file to printed art to confirm accuracy. ? Adhere to naming and back-up procedures to ensure proper archiving of digital assets ? Gather and record up to date requirements and information from print vendors to ensure a smooth print production process ? Help with occasional in-house printing when needed ? Work with Designers, Project Managers, and Accounting Department to gather printer quotes and prepare pricing estimates for jobs ? Keep internal customers advised of any changes to job information ? Archive files and complete project close process ? Continually manage, and work to improve the quality of department deliverables analyzing the production process for efficiencies and effectiveness from start to finish.
