This position is full-time and works approximately 37.5 hours per week. Some evening and weekend hours required to accommodate participants’ schedules.

Essential Functions

POSITION SUMMARY:

Position will be involved in multiple ongoing studies in the Early Emotional Development Lab including the ongoing eLABE (Early Life Adversity, Biological Embedding, and Risk for Developmental Precursors of Mental Disorders) study and the Early Development of Overcontrol (eDOC) Study. As part of the eLABE study, the position will include processing a electroencephalogram (EEG) event related potential (ERP) task and behavioral coding of parent-child interaction tasks. As part of the eDOC study, the position will include a follow-up visit in which participants aged 7-9 years will be returning for a session of parent and child behavioral tasks, a parent electroencephalogram (EEG) event related potential (ERP) task, and a parent-child functional Near Infrared Spectroscopy (fNIRS) portion. Main responsibilities include 1) assisting with study protocol administration, including ERP and fNIRS administration for parent and child participants; 2) ERP data processing; 3) tracking, scheduling and consenting eDOC study participants into the follow-up portion; and 4) behaviorally coding observational tasks.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Schedule, track, and consent study participants via phone and in-person as research protocols dictate.
  2. Assist with ERPs and fNIRS administration for child and parent participants ages 7-10. Guide parents and participants through the process by providing thorough instructions and responding appropriately to subject concerns.
  3. ERP data processing and analysis.
  4. Obtain reliability on observational data coding and independently code at established pace.
  5. Participate in the training and supervision of other team members as delegated.
  6. Administrative research tasks including organizing and managing subject databases, tracking and ordering supplies, and assistance with IRB projects.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or four years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work or related field.
  • Interactive communication skills with ability to work with children (7-9 years old) and parents.
  • Effective interpersonal and organizational skills,.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Working knowledge of Excel or other basic data entry and managing.
  • Interest in learning EEG/ERP data processing and analysis.

Salary Range

The hiring range for this position is $15.85 - $19.43 per hour.
