Kforce Project Manager II in St. Louis, Missouri

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Project Manager II in St. Louis, MO.Summary We are seeking a Project Manager II. This position focuses on developing standards, governance and awareness for Project Management, Lean Management and Change Management techniques on an Enterprise-wide level. This role will be responsible for managing a wide array of cross-functional projects with varying risks, constraints and/or challenges and will be empowered to focus on value creation.Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage wide range of projects with varying timelines, cross functionality, requirements and scope

  • Analyze problems, identify issues, summarize findings and recommend courses of action

  • Utilize PMBOK best practices to apply various principles and methodologies such as Agile/Lean, DMAIC, etc.

  • Consistently implement change management tools and techniques in a flexible manner to optimize project results

  • Develop positive working relationships with stakeholders and project teams to drive change in a positive manner by managing constraints such as timelines, scope, cost and resources

  • Lead project teams to develop and implement programs and/or process improvements

  • Ensure projects meet specified timelines and deliverables with a strong focus on value-creation

  • Effectively communicate with Stakeholders; provide early and clear escalation of risks, respond to changes in work or direction, demonstrate flexibility in approach

  • Develop program status update materials for key stakeholders and internal audit review of program budget and schedule

  • Develop comprehensive project documentation and apply project governance

  • All other duties as assigned

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited University in an analytical field (ie. Engineering, Science, Business, IT) preferred

  • Project Management Professional required or in process

  • Change management certification preferred

  • Other accreditations, such as PMI-PBA, PMI-ACP, Lean Six Sigma, etc. are valued

Required knowledge, skill and abilities

  • Recognize problems and respond, systematically gather information, sort through complex issues, understand consequences of decisions, seek input from others

  • Ability to make difficult decisions and communicate those decisions to others

  • Set challenging and productive goals for the team and hold others accountable for actions

  • Ability to provide resources and support

  • Ability to use checkpoints and processes to measure results

  • Ability to develop and manage to challenging and productive goals and delegate effectively

  • Ability to lead by example, define roles/responsibilities, motivate and set strategy

  • Proven ability to establish and maintain strong relationships at all levels in the organization

  • 6 years of related project experience

  • Prior experience leading large-scale, cross-functional projects

  • Three or more years of experience in facilitating and leading Lean Continuous Improvement efforts is valued

  • Experience with Agile development and project management techniques preferred

  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office applications is required, including Project and SharePoint

  • Prior experience in the Energy or Utility industry is preferred
