Alberici Enterprises Quality Director in St. Louis, Missouri

Alberici Constructors, Inc., a leading firm in the construction industry with annual revenues exceeding $1 billion, and most recently ranked the 31st largest General Contractor in the United States, is searching for a Quality Director to lead quality assurance and control efforts in a variety of market-segments including, but not limited to, steel fabrication, general building, healthcare, heavy industrial, energy, and water treatment. The Quality Director interfaces with engineering, construction, management, clients and clients’ inspectors on quality and welding-related concerns at project sites and/or Hillsdale Fabricators Shop. This individual is assigned to a major project and/or monitors multiple projects/special projects and ensures compliance with quality policies and procedures. The role consistently implements quality systems and practices on projects and works with management in assigning duties and responsibilities typically performed by other project quality personnel (e.g. Quality Manager, Quality Engineer and/or Quality Technicians) if the size, complexity and personnel availability warrants. Additionally, the Quality Director maintains Alberici’s Quality Programs which includes the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC), ASME Code Stamp program, NBIC program, NQA-1 program and other related programs as necessary.

  • Develops, implements and maintains quality assurance/quality control programs for the Company.

  • Communicates lessons learned to the organization and implements these items into the Company’s best practices.

  • Maintains Company code and certificate programs.

  • Develops, implements and maintains electronic welding procedures for the Company (various AWS Codes and ASME Section IX).

  • Coordinates Company’s participation in the Boliermaker Common Arc program.

  • Interprets engineering drawings, specifications and code requirements and insures that the employees and contractors have all the required quality plans, procedures and certifications.

  • Performs inspections within field of expertise.

  • Interfaces with clients through client surveys at the start, during and at the end of jobs.

  • Reports measurable quality goals to senior management.

  • Performs random jobsite audits to assure conformance to Company policies/procedures and project specifications.

Qualified candidates will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or other construction-related field, or a minimum of 10 years’ field experience and exposure to standard practices of successful QA/QC programs. Must be willing to travel extensively.
