Postdoctoral position is available at the Department of Radiology, Biomedical Magnetic Resonance Laboratory, to work on applications of novel quantitative MRI-based techniques that we have developed to better understand how human brain microstructure at the cellular level affects brain functioning. We study healthy volunteers and patients with Alzheimer’s disease, multiple sclerosis, traumatic brain injury and different psychiatric diseases.
Our group combines strong expertise in neuroscience, physics, biophysics, mathematics, data analysis and MR engineering. We maintain an open atmosphere allowing all lab members to facilitate learning and efficiently use home-built neuroimaging tools for their projects. Position offers excellent opportunities to work with outstanding neuroscientists and physicians at the Departments of Radiology, Neurology and Knight Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center.
In addition to their independent research project, the postdoctoral research associate will also aid in the mentoring of graduate students.
Facilities includefour research-devoted human 3T MRI and one PET/MRI Siemens scanners. Also available are 12T and 4.7T MRI scanners for animal studies.
- PhD in physics, biomedical engineering, neuroscience or related fields
- Previous experiences in image analysis and MATLAB/C++ programming
- Multiple backgrounds in neuroimaging, physics, mathematics, and MRI.
- Demonstrated ability to implement laboratory procedures, conduct research and records findings.
Base pay commensurate with experience.
