This position is full-time and works approximately 37.5 hours per week.

Department Name/Job Location

This position is in the department of Psychological & Brain Sciences on the Danforth Campus. This position requires traveling between the Danforth and School of Medicine Campuses.

Essential Functions


Applications are invited for a full-time research assistant position at Washington University in St. Louis, to work on a NIH-funded research project investigating the neural and psychological mechanisms of event comprehension and memory, as applied to healthy aging and Alzheimer’s disease. Research will involve the integration of methods from functional neuroimaging, behavioral measurement and computational modeling.


  1. Assist with participant recruitment and scheduling.
  2. Assist with coordinating undergraduate research assistants and research technician and staff.
  3. Assist with behavioral and cognitive testing, and data entry.
  4. Assist with MRI data collection, quality control and analyses.
  5. Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology, or a related field and one year of related experience or high school diploma or equivalent high school certification and experience equaling five years.
  • Prior research experience in a psychology research lab, though relevant coursework or research in related fields might count towards experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SPSS and/or R statistical programs, Excel, programming (e.g., Python).
  • Experience with structural and/or functional MRI processing and analyses.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Ability to work independently, and take initiative.

Salary Range

Base pay commensurate with experience. The hourly wage for this position starts at $14.07/hr.
