How will you make an impact?

You will conduct general chemical, biochemical, and molecular biology testing of materials and product for in-process or release purposes, in compliance with all applicable procedures and regulations. You will ensure assays are transferred, qualified / validated, and performed under cGMP requirements. You will also perform a variety of duties related to the efficient and effective functioning of a quality control laboratory manufacturing operations by supporting Process Performance Improvement (PPI).

What will you do?

  • Conduct compendia and molecule specific testing of materials and products using a variety of equipment and test methods (e.g. UV/Vis, quantitative PCR, CE-SDS, USP / EP / JP testing).

  • Carry out duties in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and guidelines including FDA, EPA, and OSHA. Complies with all applicable company, site and client policies and procedures. Reports any non-conformances. Initiates and/or leads resolution efforts and laboratory investigations.

  • Execute the verification / qualification / validation of assays

  • Execute occasional off-shift and/or holiday manufacturing support testing

  • Clearly and accurately communicate the results of work by creating documentation of the testing/analysis and obtained results.

  • Recognize and report out-of-specification or unexpected results and non-routine analytical and product problems.

  • Resolve complex technical issues through analytical thinking. Assay and instrument troubleshooting, as needed.

  • Author, review, and revise SOPs and other lab documents as necessary.

  • Perform Preventative Maintenance and calibration activities on QC Instrumentation.

How will you get here?

Education

  • Bachelor’s or Master's Degree in a Science related field, preferably Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology or Physics.

Experience

  • 2-5 years of experience in a laboratory, Quality, or Research and Development environment, preferably biopharmaceutical.

  • Knowledge of GMP regulations in cGMP manufacturing environment preferred.

  • Industry experience with scientific principles for wide range of protein characterization techniques strongly preferred (e.g. UV/VIS, quanitative PCR, CE-SDS, USP / EP / JP testing).

  • Experience with MS Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Word is essential, Minitab experience is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Effective oral and written communication skills.

  • Working knowledge of cGMPs and Quality Control regulatory requirements

  • Experience with performing qualification/validation of QC assays and equipment.

  • Performs microbiological, technical and instrument troubleshooting
