WSP is currently initiating a search for a Senior Highway Engineer for our St. Louis office.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Actively contribute to the overall success of transportation infrastructure projects in Missouri, including projects with the Missouri Department of Transportation, municipalities, and other agencies throughout the State

  • Lead and oversee civil engineering staff and tasks while collaborating with a variety of project teams within WSP USA

  • Perform preliminary and final engineering

  • Perform highway geometry design

  • Produce maintenance of traffic plans

  • Perform hydraulic and drainage design

  • Prepare estimates of quantities and costs

  • Prepare engineering reports

  • Provide assistance with the production of plans

  • Utilize civil engineering design software, such as Microstation and GeoPAK

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited civil engineering program

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in civil/transportation engineering

  • The ability to lead and guide civil engineering staff

  • General knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices

  • Familiarity with AASHTO and State DOT Criteria and Standards

  • An excellent communicator and team player

  • P.E. Certification, or the ability to obtain a certification within six months, is required

  • Ability to work in this country immediately is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding and knowledge of Microstation and Geopak Software

  • Project management experience

  • Any background in design-build and/or fast track large scale projects is a plus
