Senior Manager HSE Audit and Compliance
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of this role, Senior Manager Health Safety and Environment Audit and Compliance, are to:
Lead strategically Audit program leveraging environmental safety and health professionals to deliver a consistent HSE vision and conduct on-site audits that ensure compliance with established regulatory, corporate and Management System requirements;
Develop strategy and systems to ensure compliance with established regulatory requirements, corporate requirements, management system conformance and provide advice to correctly apply and meet those requirements;
Establish the Regional Health Safety and Environment (HSE) audit strategy and multiyear forecast plan in conjunction with the business units to ensure an integrated and efficient approach to optimize resources;
Work with team to deliver enabling tools and systems for the HSE management system specifically in the area of audits and compliance;
Develop and defines Key Performance Indicators;
Analyze results and provide feedback to leadership on trends as well as recommendations to drive HSE performance and results and share best practices;
Collaborate cross functionally with multi-disciplinary groups, such as Corporate Health & Safety (CHS) Audit Lead, regional HSE, site HSE and CHS Leadership teams to establish cost effective and appropriate measures to reduce risks, comply with HSE regulations, global policies, standards, best practices and protocols;
Serve as the audit liaison between CHS and NA HSE;
Serve as the Regional Audit Program Manager (APM);
Lead the evaluation of suppliers from a risk management perspective.

Bachelor Degree in Environmental, Safety & Health, Engineering, or related field required;
A minimum of 15 years in manufacturing, agricultural, Pharmaceutical, Engineering and/or technical environmental field with experience in safety and health compliance;
A minimum of 10 years of experience in Health, Safety, and Environmental field;
Experience with managing complex detailed environmental, health and safety compliance programs and audit processes that evaluate and track compliance with applicable HSE requirements;
Advanced understanding of ISO Management Systems;
Experience managing large scale and high business impact projects, programs and or processes within the region in areas of regulatory and Bayer business requirements;
Demonstrated experience partnering with industry organizations, key suppliers and/or regulatory agencies to effectively represent and influence outcomes;
Ability to articulate issues, lead and influence HSE technical discussions;
Demonstrated ability working with enabling tools for audit management and HSE compliance;
Ability to learn company business and HSE/Law processes to ensure appropriately focused and timely HSE support;
Ability to develop a compelling vision, define strategy and lead implementation of enabling tools within the region;
Results oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to deliver on short-term goals while simultaneously advancing longer-term strategy and goals;
Strong leadership and excellent communications skills;
Demonstrated ability to influence without authority and lead in a highly matrixed environment;
Expert knowledge of OSHA and Environmental Protection Agency regulations and ability to learn company HSE programs;
Ability to manage complex projects;
Ability to resolve conflict;
Ability to lead through change.
Expert knowledge of Canadian regulations and ability to learn company HSE programs;
Advanced degree preferred;
Professional certifications (CSP, ASP, CIH) are highly desired.
