The individual resource will perform the following activities:
Create, review, and deliver release documentation, reports, procedures, configuration documents and other required project documents for updates to client applications. Facilitate project level meetings involving the internal project team and external stakeholders, including initial project meetings, project planning sessions to define project scope and deliverables, daily and weekly project status meetings, project change control board meetings, and, post-project analysis and lessons learned meetings. Create project charters to document the overall scope of a project and effectively communicate project plans to the internal team and external stakeholders. Provide status reports on activities to achieve successful updates to client’s applications according to the project schedule. Review business requirements documents and compare against applicable project charters and other project planning documents to determine whether business requirements have been fulfilled. Develop and provide to client work break-down structures (WBS), cost estimates, and resource plans to achieve successful updates to client’s applications. Using client’s templates create detailed project schedules that include specific tasks in the WBS. Monitor project schedule and provide weekly status reports to client. Using MS Project/MS Server, track and update project plans daily and provide to client project variance and exception reports. Create and provide documentation to: define a new project or phase of an existing project; define processes required to attain objectives of the project; monitor progress and performance of activities defined as required to attain project objectives within the project schedule and budget; identify any areas in which changes to the project plan are required and initiate corresponding actions; and, confirm successful completion of activities and attainment of business objectives. Provide training in a timely manner to client staff on project management activities and technical and business requirements associated with updates to client’s applications. Notify client management concerning possible risks to meeting project goals, budget, and deadline requirements. Facilitate meetings with project sponsor and client management to identify necessary changes to mitigate risks to meeting project goals, budget, and deadline requirements. Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree with major or specialized courses in Computer Science or Management Information Systems or commensurate experience. 10+ years’ experience leading development efforts from inception through implementation while delivering complex projects on time and on budget. PMI PMP Certification desired. Experience with Microsoft Project. Experience with Project Server. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively. Demonstrated skills in problem solving to mitigate risks. A thorough understanding of the Unified Process. Familiar with JEE technologies. Experience with Agile/Iterative development projects.
