How will you make an impact?

This is a working supervisor position and the incumbent will be expected to perform all supervisor functions in the group relative to work task assignment and delegation while ensuring root cause analysis (RCA) and Corrective Action/Preventative Action (CAPA) are conducted and implemented for major and critical deviations at the site such that recurrence is reduced/eliminated. Duties include directing staff work duties, investigating and resolving issues. Position serves as the technical lead in root cause analysis and problem solving.

  • Provide leadership to assigned staff by performing the following: leading organizational change; developing and empowering staff; cultivating relationships; putting staff in a position to succeed, meeting their personal career goals while also achieving organizational goals; building effective teams that apply their diverse skills and perspectives to achieve common goals; driving engagement and creating a climate where staff are motivated to do their best.

  • Supervise approximately 5 direct reports.

  • Overall creation and coordination of work schedules for team.

  • Oversee Investigation Review Board in conjunction or as part of the CAPA review board.

  • Train new hires on department processes, procedures and tools.

  • Facilitate cross-functional teams on complex problem solving

  • Interact with auditors/clients during visits and tours.

  • Oversee daily activity for the group to ensure appropriate quality and aggressive times lines are met

  • Performance management for staff.

  • Review and approve, as needed, documentation generated by the group.

  • Effectively communicate with peers, manufacturing, and Sr. Leaders regarding status and recommendations based upon investigation outcomes.

  • Provide support to site Safety initiatives.

  • Other job duties as assigned.

How will you get here?

Education

  • Bachelor degree in Life Science required, preferably in Biology or Chemistry.

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in direct utilization of problem solving tools (RCA tools including 5-Whys, Fishbone, Kepnor-Tregoe, Comparative Analysis, etc.) with demonstrated success.

  • At least 3 years of experience working in a regulated environment

  • At least 1 year of supervisor/team lead experience required.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Knowledge of QC and/or analytical testing, including out-of spec investigations.

  • Technical experience and judgment as called upon during investigations and daily interpretation of data and results.

  • Ability to drive functional, technical, and operational excellence.

  • Ability to inspire and foster innovation, collaboration, transparency, and team effectiveness.

  • Ability to manage timelines and coordinate work schedules of employees.
