How will you make an impact?

The supervisor manages the day-to-day Quality Control activities for the Environmental Monitoring department, ensuring the compliance, accuracy and timeliness of specified testing support processes (e.g., collecting EM samples, reviewing results and reporting trends), provides QC EM guidance and support throughout the site (e.g. projects, product transfers and regulatory inspections), and ensures all testing support processes and departmental documentation meet corporate and regulatory standards.

What will you do?

  • Provide Environmental Monitoring technical expertise at the site, within and outside of the Quality Control department. Participates in Health Authority, client and internal audits.

  • Develop and maintain site policies and procedures related to environmental monitoring ensuring compliance to corporate and regulatory standards.

  • Participate in the investigations of non-conformances in compliance with quality procedures, policies and regulations.

  • Oversee trending of environmental data.

  • Represent the Environmental Monitoring team in internal and project team meetings.

  • Provide support to the Quality Control laboratories and management as required.

  • Supervise three to four EM technicians and a documentation specialist.

How will you get here?

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or related field

Experience

  • 7 or more years of experience in Microbiology labs and Environmental Monitoring in a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility

  • At least 2 years of prior supervisory experience

  • Experience with facility startup and/or changes with respect to process flows and environmental monitoring location selection.

Equivalency

  • Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant work experience may be considered.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Good knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) including manufacturing and laboratory systems and utilities.

  • Strong knowledge of Aseptic manufacturing practices and gowning.

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

  • Effective written, interpersonal, and presentation skills.

  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
