What You Will Do
Ascension Technologies is seeking a Telecom Director that will be responsible for the telecommunications staff, infrastructure, and continuous availability of our systems and services. This position has approval authority for department activities, staffing, budget and expenses, vendor management, and works in concert with other leaders across the organization to develop processes, standards, and strategy. The Director has a demonstrated history of teamwork and team building, mentoring, initiative, technical expertise in the telecommunications field, understanding customer needs, financial and staff management, and successful projects with satisfied clients.
Prioritize and manage financial and staff resources.
Maintain and report on expenses and system inventories.
Manage installation of all voice circuits and assist with the ordering of network services.
Effectively interact with all levels of leadership.
Manage and oversee vendor engineering associates and performance.
Participate in the review and negotiation of local and national service maintenance contracts.
Maintain and enforce warranty and support agreements for telecommunications network, hardware and software components.
Approve configuration changes and modifications to maintain or improve performance.
Audit existing hardware, software and services for conformance to local and national standards.
Have expertise in long range capacity planning.
Manage and report on circuit capacity required to meet current and projected volumes.
Audit, reconcile, approve and report on invoices and expenses from telecommunications providers.
Review and update the telecommunications business continuity and disaster recovery plan in concert with local and national standards and recommendations.
Manage consequences/changes required by the organization through the approved Change Control Procedures.
Based on analysis of invoices and telecommunications usage, provide recommendations regarding changes to telecommunications network and infrastructure.
Maintain strong working relationships with other technology domains, network services and other product and services teams.
Ensure all documentation within the telecommunication service line is complete, thorough, consistent, up-to-date, and follows defined standards.
May act as a project manager on assigned tasks/projects.
What You Will Need
High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Bachelor's degree required.
Master's degree preferred.
5 years of experience required.
10 years of experience preferred.
2 years of leadership or management experience required.
5 years of leadership or management experience preferred.
Experience in 24x7 Hospital or Healthcare environments.
Understanding of LEC, IXC and CLEC standards and protocols
Experience in large enterprise communications network with high availability requirements.
Experience in Avaya and Cisco telephony systems.
Experience with successfully deployed IP Telephony and support
Demonstrated technical and administrative leadership, a record of successful projects, and satisfied clients.
24x7 On-call for service escalations and travel up to 25%
Contact Center / Call Center Management experience.
Project Management Experience or Certifications
Demonstrated and proven management of teams responsible for the following:
Enterprise PBX and Key system installation and management
Paging, Sound and Alerting Services
Voice Server Applications
