Training Coordinator / Mate Mentor

American River Transportation Company, LLC.

This is a full-time, exempt level position

Position Summary:

  • Working under the supervision of the Lineboat Operations Manager, duties include a wide variety of standard and non-standard management and administrative duties. Primary focus will be on training and development of new hire colleagues and day to day resource for Lineboat Mates.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and schedule new hire training course / coordinate with lineboat and fleet locations on volume of new hires

  • Oversee and evaluate ongoing effectiveness of new hire orientation and presentations – provide refreshed material when needed.

  • Coordinate and Manage annual required training for all of ARTCO through on-line learning modules.

  • Organizing and maintaining the various safety, environmental, training, medical, and personnel paper and electronic filing systems

  • Manage annual review process for Lineboat Mates including Training Mates and Training Cook

  • Manage promotion process and recommendation list for Watchman and Mates

  • Conduct ongoing training with Lineboat Mates including Safety, Environmental, Security programs

  • Supporting ARTCO management staff with assigned project work

  • Maintaining confidentiality in all aspects of job duties

  • Maintaining a positive safety attitude in all prescribed duties

  • Promotes the ADM Way and Core Values

Job Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalence, Bachelor’s Degree Preferred

  • Computer proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Access)

  • Good writing, analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to communicate effectively, including one-on-one and in front of a group

  • Ability to operate standard office equipment, including computers, a multi-line telephone system, calculators, copiers, and fax machines

  • Effective time management and multi-tasking skills

  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions

  • Self-motivation
