Boeing Talent Acquisition is currently looking for one System Engineer to join the Visual Systems team in St. Louis, MO . This position will focus on supporting the Government Training Systems & Services. GTS&S is responsible for the design, development, manufacture, and maintenance of training devices for a wide variety of commercial and military aircraft - everything from F-15 fighter jets to Apache attack helicopters.

This is a technical position that requires hands-on experience with state of the art visual and sensor image generation systems. This individual will interface with the trainer crew station, database generation and display groups, suppliers of visual system products, as well as the customers their products support.

Candidate will perform work in a rapidly changing and evolving environment and must/needs to be able to apply appropriate technical decisions to complex problems.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively within an integrated product team to own full product lifecycle of large scale visual display systems used in pilot training; including product conception, initial product delivery, product sustainment, and product discontinuance.

  • Work collaboratively with suppliers to bring cutting edge technologies to Boeing training capabilities such as full 8K, 120Hz projectors

  • Provide technical briefs to other Boeing programs and military customers related to product development and current status

  • Develop systems of systems architectures using both traditional Systems Engineering processes and Model Based Systems Engineering processes

  • Create requirements for mechanical, electrical, optical, and software systems related to large scale visual display and image generation products

  • Assist with integration of products and systems into customer unique installations

  • Characterize and Test Optical components including projectors, mirrors, and screens

  • Document, develop, and execute plans for managing risks, issues, and opportunities in producing visual display and image generation products

  • Develop test plans and perform formal verification testing against written requirements

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering

  • Experience writing requirements and developing architectures

  • Knowledge of high performance computer design such as high end gaming PCs

  • Ability to read blueprints with understanding of Dimensioning and Tolerancing

  • Experience working hands on with mechanical and optical systems

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Knowledge of how projectors and displays operate and critical performance indicators such as video timing resolution, gamma, color gamut, refresh rate, contrast, response time, and transport delay

  • Understanding of basic software architectures and general syntax of coding languages such as C++ Knowledge of basic network topologies and architectures

  • Experience with the following tools:Siemens NX or similar 3D CAD tools, IBM Rational DOORS, No Magic Cameo

Typical Education & Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 6 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+4 years' related work experience, 10 years' related work experience, etc.).
