Brand Overview

Hubbell Utility Solutions (HUS) engages in the design and manufacture of a wide variety of products used by utilities. Today, HUS is also deeply engaged in product solutions for the Utility Communications and Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) space, and has been actively growing that segment of the business. HUS roots have historically been in high voltage transmission, distribution, substation, underground products used by electric utilities. HUS products are also used in the civil construction, transportation, gas, and water industries.

HUS has three business units. Hubbell Power Systems (HPS) is our electrical components and infrastructure business. Aclara is our AMI and Meters business. Protection and control is our newest business initiative to drive substation communications, control and protection solutions. HUS provides these solutions in the Electric Utility, Water, Gas and Communications Market.

Position Overview

The VP – Commercial Excellence HUS provides sales operations leadership to the HUS Commercial Team. This position will evolve and grow as the new HUS strategy is implemented.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Builds a reporting/pacing process that keeps HUS leadership connected to key deals and opportunities.

  • Works closely with Salesforce team to drive data requirements, develop accurate reports, and implement value added strategies.

  • Works closely with VP Global Sales, Human Resources and Finance to develop and implement efficient variable compensation programs.

  • Handles Salesforce reporting strategies and implementation of reporting process across HUS.

  • Works closely with Hubbell Marketing analyze market and industry trends to provide unique perspectives to the business.

  • Create a competitive analysis function.

  • Lead a Business Intelligence team that uses current data from multiple sources and assists in the creation of sales strategy.

  • Assists in identifying adjacent growth markets.

  • Leads all sales operations for a 200 person sales team.

Skills and Experience

  • 5+ years leading sales operations efforts within a $2B+ sized organization.

  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, verbal and written.

  • Ability to collaborate across multi-disciplinary functions.

  • Strong business acumen within the utility industry, particularly supporting data communication projects and emerging utility technologies.

  • 3+ years Salesforce (or other CRM) experience and knowledge.

  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications.

  • Sales experience in the Electric Utility market.

  • Highly self-motivated.


Bachelors Degree in Engineering General or Business
