JOB SUMMARYUnder general supervision, provides technical support to field engineers, technicians, and product support personnel who are diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical/mechanical equipment. Responds to situations where first-line product support is required to isolate or fix problems in malfunctioning equipment. Reports design, reliability and maintenance problems. Oversee contractors to ensure safe work practices to protect critical systems and verify adherence to Method of Procedure MOP and Critical Environment Work Rules CEWR. Provides support to customers / users where the product is highly technical or sophisticated in nature. Typically has more than 7 years relevant experience.MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESActively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience * Performs on-site installation, preventive maintenance, repair and calibration on electrical and mechanical systems in a raised floor data center environment * Inspect and test mechanical and electrical equipment; chillers, CRAH s, pumping, fire alarm, motor control, lighting, signal, communication and power circuits. Ensure successful operation of all electrical/mechanical systems, including; UPS, generator, chiller plant and HVAC distribution * Must have knowledge of mechanical and electrical codes and best practices associated with the operation, repair and maintenance of each system * Performs advanced support activates for all systems and equipment in the data center environment. * Frequently write Method of Procedures MOPs outlining workflow process to protect personnel, equipment and customer availability * Ensure all mechanical and electrical systems are in compliance with the building codes and all other applicable laws, codes, rules and regulationsREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSSkills/Abilities and Knowledge * Ability to read, write, speak and understand English * Must have knowledge of mechanical and electrical codes and best practices associated with the operation, repair and maintenance of each system * Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills are required. The ability to perform under pressure and utilize command skills is a must * Must be able to interrupt blueprints and specification documents * Must be able to troubleshoot complex electrical / mechanical systems and related devices. Must have advanced knowledge of mechanical and electrical codes and practices associated with the operation, repair and maintenance of each discipline * Ability to complete documentation accurately, shall be proficient with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. * Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
