The primary focus of the maintenance technician is to support the production efforts of the plant through maintenance and repair of equipment to assure maximum available up time. Requires the ability to troubleshoot breakdowns and quickly correct problems.
The maintenance technician is responsible for welding, working with blueprints, and having machining proficiency. This position must be able to continually execute the Preventative Maintenance program. The ability to troubleshoot breakdowns and quickly correct problems is necessary and increases as identified above. It is crucial that the incumbent is skilled at levels identified above in machine repair, welding, piping, machine rigging and mechanical problem solving. This position is also responsible for the fabrication and installation of new processes that are being introduced into the production arena. The mechanical technician is responsible for the installation of new processes that are being introduced into the production arena to improve efficiencies. Level 1 electrical skills and responsibilities are the secondary focus of this position.
High School edu with up to 3-5 years of related experience or technical school with 2-3 years of related experience. Must be able to troubleshoot and problem solve. Good time management skills. Basic Technical skills, including: machine repair, piping, machine rigging, HVAC, etc. Basic electrical troubleshooting skills. Ability to read blueprints and technical manuals.
Qualified with Lockout-Tagout, Confined Space, Hot-Work Procedures, and PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
