Position Overview

Kemin Nutrisurance is seeking a talented and dedicated Quality Assurance Specialist. The successful candidate will be responsible for and actively involved in the execution of Quality Management System duties. This position reports to the Quality Control Manager at our Verona, Missouri facility and requires up to 10% local travel within a 50-mile radius.

What you'll be doing:

  • Lead internal audit(s) and report findings, with minimal oversight, as necessary.

  • Facilitate the Corrective Action/Preventive Action (CAPA) investigation and follow up, as applicable.

  • Perform batch record reviews, with minimal supervision, as applicable.

  • Must follow all procedures and SOPs/forms and assist with updates.

  • Must maintain proper quality documentation.

  • Provide input for customer questionnaires with supervision, as applicable.

  • Perform change management tasks.

  • Assist or participate with external audit(s), as needed.

  • May collect samples, prepare shipments and inspect raw materials and finished goods.

  • Review raw material, finished goods, packaging release, and bring variances forward, as applicable.

  • Running reports, inputting specifications as defined, as applicable.

  • Investigate nonconformities, as applicable.

  • Review and request supplier documents, as applicable.

  • Prepare communication for customers, under guidance.

  • Pull and send reports as applicable.

  • Must work closely with cross functional teams (including Operations, R&D, and other quality groups.)

  • Follows and maintains an environment of food safety in compliance with rules and regulations, as applicable.

  • Other duties as assigned.

What we require of you:

  • Associate's degree with five years of related experience or a Bachelor's degree with up to three years of related experience.

  • Previous manufacturing, warehouse, inventory, inspection or other related experience preferred.

  • Must have and maintain an insurable driving record.

  • Must be able to work independently and as a team.

  • Must be a self-starter.

  • Must be able to use computer systems, MS Office, ERP, etc.

  • Must have strong skills using MS Office in particular

  • Must have attention to detail.

  • Good written and oral communication skills.

  • Ability to operate, troubleshoot, perform maintenance, instruct and perform method validation on lab equipment.

  • Must have basic math skills.
