THE DOE RUN COMPANY Senior Chemical Technician - SENIO01481-00001 in Viburnum, Missouri

The Doe Run Company is seeking a Senior Chemical Technician to perform laboratory operations with the ability to troubleshoot instrumentation and equipment issues and prepare and analyze samples on a daily basis to provide accurate and timely results. This position is located in Viburnum, MO in the beautiful Mark Twain National Forest.Responsibilities:Ensure that instrumentation and equipment is maintained and serviced on a regular basis in order to maintain accuracy.Set up and maintain lab instruments according to established standards.Gather sample data from production work areas and perform appropriate tests ensuring analysis of samples meet quality standards.Prepare, run and report on production samples.Mentor, train and coach others on lab best practices.Other duties or projects as assigned.Education and Experience:Minimum 7-years lab experience plus high school diploma or equivalent; orMinimum 5-years lab experience plus associates degree in relevant science field; orMinimum 3-years lab experience plus bachelors degree in relevant science field.Instrumentation certification preferred.Must have experience troubleshooting laboratory instrumentation and equipment issues.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Strong computer skills, including ability to use Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.), LIMS, financial and ERP systems.Strong knowledge of lab procedures and experience with lab documentation and analysis.Knowledgeable of lab instrumentation and analytical equipment and how to troubleshoot issues with equipment.General maintenance knowledge, including the ability to calibrate and perform basic maintenance on analytical equipment.Strong communication skills to positively coach others in developing lab knowledge.Work Environment and Physical Requirements:Frequently required to wear personal protective equipment, including but not limited to, a respirator, hearing protection and eyewear, and work near moving, mechanical parts.Occasionally exposed to extreme cold.Exposed to moderate noise levels.Regularly requires standing, hearing, walking, reaching with hands/arms, and repetitive movement.Frequently requires grasping and pushing.Occasionally requires feeling attributes of objects, driving, sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.Requires clarity of vision, precise hand-eye coordination, and the ability to identify and distinguish colors.Regularly required to lift up to 5 pounds; frequently required to lift up to 25 pounds; occasionally required to lift up to 100 pounds.Based in St. Louis, The Doe Run Company is a privately held natural resources company and one of the largest integrated lead producers in the Western Hemisphere.
